John Burton spent many hours making the "Tommy", a picture of which you can see here.
There are 100 poppies on him, one for each year since the Armistice, in 1918.
Each person from Barrow who gave their life in WW1 has their own poppy.
He will be removed on the 12th. of November and stored in a safe place until he is needed again.
WW1 ended 100 years ago and this is a lovely tribute not only to those in our village who gave their lives, but to all those who died for our country over the years.
Thank you John.
