Barrow in Bloom

Barrow went up in the East Midlands in Bloom judges' estimation and in their marks - and we got our Silver Gilt award. A step up from last year.
In addition, the bed on the College Road/Wold Road junction - the work of Carolyn Guy and helpers -  won a special award.
Very grateful thanks to all those who helped achieve this.  Now we go for gold and we need people with any skill, from gardening to planning and design to help take the village to the top.
Unfortunately Lis Welsh, who has been one of the driving forces behind Barrow in Bloom for the last five years, has indicated that she does not wish to continue at the present time and has stood down as chairman and from the committee.  Very many thanks go to Lis for her hard work and for "rescuing" Barrow in Bloom two years ago when the committee had dwindled to just two people.
Maddie Goudie agreed to take on the chairman's role and would be very pleased to hear from anyone who would like to join what is still a very small committee or who can help in any way, even if it is just watering flower beds.
You don't need to join the committee to help Barrow in Bloom; just let Maddie know what you would like to do - she can be contacted on 07891 211234.
